Ed Chaney is a lawyer who advises philanthropists, nonprofits, and social enterprises on tax and corporate issues.  His clients have ranged from some of the country’s largest private foundations to start up social enterprises at the Campus Y CUBE.  Prior to becoming an attorney, he had a ten year career in the nonprofit sector, including running an AmeriCorps program and serving as executive director of the Student Coalition for Action in Literacy Education.  He owes his career in no small part to the life lessons flowing from his undergrad volunteer and social justice activities at the Campus Y.  He earned his BA from Carolina in 1994 and his JD from the UNC School of Law in 2007.
