Rachel Myrick, an Honors Carolina student who will graduate in May 2013, is the 48th Carolina student selected as a Rhodes Scholar.

Rachel will pursue a master’s degree in international relations at the University of Oxford, where she will study the causes and consequences of ethnic conflict in world politics. She became interested in applying for the Rhodes Scholarship while studying abroad through the Honors Semester in London during her sophomore year.

Rachel embodies the spirit of our promise to all Honors Carolina students. By serving as co-chair of the Honors Student Executive Board, developing and teaching her own seminar course through the Carolina Students Taking Academic Responsibility through Teaching (C-START) program, and conducting research for her senior Honors Thesis in political science, she has taken full advantage of Honors Carolina and its opportunities.
