Come engage with Dez Mona and Belgian music collective B.O.X (Baroque Orchestration X) for an informal conversation and lunch in Gerrard Hall and then attend the evening performance at Hill Hall. B.O.X gathers some of today’s finest antique instrument virtuosi and collaborates with indie rock artists, creating genre-bending new sounds and building bridges between audiences. Likened to Tom Waits and Nina Simone, Dez Mona—one of Belgium’s finest bands—fuses jazz, classical, gospel and French art song. In a riveting meeting of minds, the groups will perform SÁGA, their latest collaboration, on January 18th at 7:30pm in Moeser Auditorium. Named for the Goddess of history, the performance features a completely new repertoire of intense ballads about the soul, the search for a home and the quest for light in a flawed world.
