Map the System Competition at UNC Info Session

January 25 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Are you interested in research and advocacy? You should know about the global student competition known as Map the System (MTS). Map the System is an initiative of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, that partners with educational institutions around the world, including UNC Chapel Hill, to challenge students to think differently about social and environmental change.

Tackling the world’s greatest challenges starts with understanding a problem and its wider context. Join the MTS competition to explore, probe and research a social, environmental, economic or health issue that matters to you, including all the connecting elements and factors around it, by utilizing the systems thinking framework. You’ll have the opportunity to present this issue in a way that people can understand, share, and learn from at the competition. No experience in Systems Thinking is necessary and all UNC students can get involved!

Register for our info session if you want to:
– Develop systems level thinking
– Formulate ways to visually map a complex system
– Build research and presentation skills
– Forge new connections with innovators and changemakers
– Win prize money, brought to you by Innovate Carolina’s Dreamers Who Do Fund
– Represent UNC Chapel Hill at the University of Oxford Virtual Global Finals and win cash prizes

More information about the Map the System Competition at UNC, including the team of systems thinking experts and faculty mentors at UNC who are eager to help guide your preparation throughout the spring semester leading up to the UNC competition in April, can be found at innovate.unc.edu/map-the-system.

This event is sponsored by Honors Carolina. Register on the Go Anywhere platform.
