Jeremy Morowitz graduated from UNC in 2018 with Honors and a B.S. in Biology as well as a minor in History. Jeremy completed his Honors Thesis with the Gracz Lab, titled “Modulation of Epigenetic Mark 5-hydroxymethylcytosine in Intestinal Organoid Cultures”. This work introduced Jeremy to Dr. Scott Magness and Dr. Nancy Allbritton, co-founders of Altis Biosystems, a biotech startup that originated at UNC and focuses on the culture of human primary intestinal stem cells for industry. Jeremy was hired as Altis Biosystems’ first Research Associate in August of 2018, and is currently Cell Operations Manager. When not in the lab, Jeremy can be found playing disc golf or taking pictures of birds in Battle Park.
