Yampiere Lugo, Will Fellow and Honors Carolina student, graduated May 2021 with a double major in Environmental Studies and Global Studies. Since leaving Carolina, he joined AmeriCorps NCCC, a full-time service program that engages people in team-based national and community service across the country. AmeriCorps NCCC is involved in several different areas of service including energy conservation, environmental stewardship, infrastructure improvement, as well as urban and rural development. Currently, Yampiere’s team is stationed in Tacoma, WA where they work with Eloise’s Cooking Pot to ensure low-income, disabled, and unhoused people have access to nutritious foods.
