Food for Thought: Meg Fletcher, UNC Linguistics Department

Meg Fletcher is a second-year grad student in the linguistics department at UNC Chapel Hill. She obtained her undergraduate degree at UNC Chapel Hill as well, where she majored in Linguistics and Hispanic Linguistics along with a Russian minor. As a graduate student, Meg studies sociolinguistics and is currently writing her thesis on instructors perceptions of nonstandard English dialects. Her other research interests include forensic linguistics and indigenous languages of South America. Meg has taught Linguistics 101 and designed and taught an introductory course in forensic linguistics as a graduate teaching fellow. This semester she is teaching Linguistics 101.
