Mackenzie Thomas, Product Inclusion, Equity, & Diversity at Google

October 9, 2019 @ 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm

Join Mackenzie Thomas (UNC ’13) for a discussion on inclusive storytelling, civic technology, and the intersection of media and tech. Mackenzie has spent the last 6 years at Google, most recently leading product and marketing inclusion for some of Google’s most loved products like Search, Maps, Photos, & News. Her early days at Google were spent on the Search team, leading product marketing efforts to help provide billions of voters with objective election information globally. She has worked on the News Lab team, shaping product direction for news and media in partnership with publishers worldwide. Her passion for a healthy news ecosystem stems from her background in civic tech. During her days on UNC’s campus, she was the president of the Campus Y, started TEDxUNC, and TA-ed for Buck Goldstein’s Honors FYS. She is the President of Carolina Pride Alumni Network, and is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. She is an avid fan of pizza, women’s sports, and local politics! Lunch is provided. RSVP here.

Presented by Honors Carolina & Honors Carolina PRIDE.
