Undergraduate Research Panel with UG Research Peer Advisors

January 31, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Are you interested in doing research as an undergraduate student but would like advice about:

  • Finding interesting opportunities on-campus or off?
  • Approaching faculty members?
  • Meeting requirements or expectations?
  • Working in a lab, library, museum, or archive?

If you are curious about paths to conducting research at Carolina, around the state, the U.S., or internationally, join us for an Undergraduate Research Panel to hear from junior and senior students in the Carolina Covenant and UNC Scholars Program! These peer advisors are currently engaged in projects across disciplines, from history to neuroscience to astrophysics. They have conducted research at Carolina, at other universities and institutions in the state and around the U.S., and even traveled internationally to learn more about the exchange of tea and architecture between Imperial Britain and China and study the intersection of music and neuroscience in Australia. Peer advisors have applied for grants and published papers, and are happy to share their advice and best practices with you!

Representatives from the Office of Undergraduate Research and the Office of Distinguished Scholarships will be present, and we’ll have plenty of time for Q&A at the end of the evening.

If you’re contemplating research possibilities – from lab work to an Honors thesis – join us to learn more about opportunities and support available to you!

Pizza will be provided.
