Explore how public health systems work—and how they can be improved—through an immersive, hands-on experience in London, one of the world’s most complex and influential global cities.

This four-week summer program introduces students to systems thinking and solution development as tools for understanding and addressing real-world public health challenges. Students will examine how health, social, political, and economic systems interact—and will work in small teams to understand a complex system, analyze and prioritize leverage points, and adapt solutions to pressing public health problems.

London offers a rich learning context: a centralized national health system (the NHS), deep public health history, and a living laboratory for questions related to equity, access, governance, and innovation. Classroom learning is paired with site visits, guest speakers, and field-based exploration across the city.
