Conquest and Colonization in the English Atlantic World

This Burch Field Research Seminar is a four-week program that studies English exploration and colonization, taking a close look at how European society functioned and how it was transformed in the New World. The seminar includes a study of the many kinds of violence that existed in Europe and England, including trips to key battle sites in England and guides the student through archival historical research.
