Food for Thought with Professor Christopher Clark

February 6, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Christopher J. Clark’s research focuses on black electoral representation and its influence on political processes. He is currently working on a book manuscript that examines the causes and consequences of black descriptive representation in the American states. In this work, he analyzes the factors associated with blacks getting elected to the state legislature, when black state legislative caucuses are created, as well as the impact that blacks serving in state legislatures has on policy outcomes beneficial to blacks (black interests), black political involvement, and black political attitudes. In addition, he has work that examines how the presence of other underrepresented groups in legislative bodies influences political processes.
