Lunch & Learn with Graves Clayton, Class ’80, “Applying a Chemistry (or Science) Degree”
February 1, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Your Carolina chemistry (or science) degree prepares you for a wide-range of career paths. Join Graves Clayton for a discussion on the business of chemistry as a potential fit to leverage your knowledge. Graves graduated from UNC in 1980 with a degree in chemistry (and zoology) and recently retired after a 37-year career in the North American petrochemicals industry with Union Carbide Corporation, Dow Chemical and Arkema, where he was exclusively focused on commercial roles in sales, sales leadership, product management and marketing. The discussion will include a view of the NA chemicals industry, the key participants, markets, products and opportunities in commercial (non-R&D/engineering) roles for undergraduate science degrees. Chemistry – It’s All Around You!
