Whitney Magendie and Sam Kimball

Join alumnae, Whitney Magendie and Sam Kimball, for dinner and conversations about experiences working for NPOs and NGOs.

Whitney Magendie, Senior Program Manager at the National Network of Public Health Institutes, leads program management and strategy design for national public health projects on behavioral health and substance abuse, including tobacco control and opioid misuse prevention, with a particular interest in elevating public health practice to reduce health disparities. Mrs. Magendie has previously worked in women’s global reproductive health and volunteered as a Louisiana state-certified HIV outreach testing volunteer. Mrs. Magendie is committed to using her platform to advocate for health equity and social justice and seeks to utilize technologies, tools, and strategies designed to ensure equitable engagement for all stakeholders. Mrs. Magendie holds an MPH in International Health from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and a B.A. with a double major in Political Science and Romance Languages from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Mr. Kimball joined Ipas as Internal Auditor in 2016, subsequently serving as Controller and Director of Finance & Accounting before becoming Chief Financial Officer in 2019. At Ipas, Mr. Kimball has worked closely with finance, program, and operational staff across the organization to help develop processes and internal controls, and identify areas for improvement to minimize and mitigate risk. Mr. Kimball leads all financial management efforts at Ipas, including all accounting and fiscal management functions, in support of the organization’s mission, vision, and values. He oversees Ipas’s organization-wide budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as finance and accounting policy development and monitoring . Before joining Ipas, Mr. Kimball spent seven year at KPMG LLP, a global public accounting firm, providing audit and attestation services to clients in various industries and regulatory environments. Mr. Kimball has a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Dinner will be served.
