Smart and Connected Teams: Elite Futbol, Sport Science, and Innovation in Barcelona

This dynamic three-week study abroad program focuses on smart and connected teams through the lens of elite soccer in Spain. The course takes place entirely in Barcelona, Spain, where students will engage with industry-leading sport science professionals and institutions. Anchored by partnerships with Futbol Club Barcelona (FCB), Barcelona Innovation Hub (BiHub), the Olympic Performance Center, and Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, the program offers an immersive exploration of the technology, methodologies, and data-driven approaches that enhance athlete health, performance, and team dynamics.

Eligibility

All Burch Field Research Seminars are open to UNC undergraduates (second-year status or greater) who have a 3.0 GPA. No course pre-requisites.
