Program Highlights
Integrated Academic Experience: The program centers around the intersection of sport science, data analytics, and performance technology. You’ll explore the latest innovations used by top football clubs and sports organizations to optimize performance and health. Through project-based learning, you’ll also analyze broader connections between sport, technology, and medicine.
Professional Exposure: Expect behind-the-scenes access to elite sport science environments. Past programs have included visits to FC Barcelona’s training facilities, Olympic-level performance centers, La Liga clubs, EuroLeague leadership, and sport technology companies. Guest lectures and practitioner-led sessions give students direct contact with professionals working in athlete monitoring, rehabilitation, coaching, and sport analytics.
Broad Themes: Coursework emphasizes group projects on Health vs. Performance, two critical themes in modern sport science, allowing students to delve into real-world challenges faced by elite athletes, clubs, and organizations.
FC Barcelona’s Innovation Ecosystem: Gain exposure to how one of the world’s top sport clubs and its surrounding network of industry partners, former coaches, and technology companies drive innovation in sport science, including applications of data science and AI in sports performance and athlete health.
