Classrooms and Event Spaces
Classrooms
The Johnston Center has five classrooms in Graham Memorial that feature state-of-the-art teaching and communications technology. We can only accept same-day reservations for classrooms during the first 2 weeks of the academic semester. After the add/drop course deadline, advance reservation requests are open.
- GM 035: George H. and Janet J. Johnson Master Classroom. $75 Rental Fee.
- GM 038: William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust Master Classroom. $75 Rental Fee.
- GM 210: Robert Rearden, Jr. Seminar Room. $50 Rental Fee.
- GM 212: Sherwood H. Smith, Jr. Seminar Room. $50 Rental Fee.
- GM 213: Lawrence L. and Carol Green Gellerstedt III Seminar Room. $50 Rental Fee.
Event Spaces
Graham Memorial can host only those events that are related to or sponsored by official UNC departments or admin units. Priority is given to events with a strong connection to the University’s mission of undergraduate education. The JCUE will not consider weddings or wedding-related events, dances, or Greek Life socials. Event space availability is not shared on 25Live. Please reach out to the Events Manager at gmevents@unc.edu to discuss available dates.
- GM 039: The Kresge Foundation Common Room, $350 Rental Fee.
- GM 011: The Laura M. and Peter T. Grauer Living Room. $75 Rental Fee.
- GM 109: John Lindsay Morehead II Lounge. $400 Rental Fee.
- The Educational Foundation Terrace. $200 Rental Fee. The Terrace is discounted to $100 when rented in conjunction with GM 109.
- GM 009: The Julia Child Kitchen. The kitchen is available strictly as an add-on to the rental of GM 109, GM 011, or GM 039. No Fee.
Event Fees: The Client may request a waiver of rental fees for events directly related to Undergraduate educational instruction only. A security fee, a catering fee, and/or other charges may still apply.
Reserve a Classroom or Event Space
Please review our Event Use, Alcohol Use, and Event Cancellation policies and then complete the Reservation Request Form to request the use of a classroom or event space in Graham Memorial. All reservation requests must be submitted a minimum of 30 days before the desired date. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in immediate application rejection. Requests will be processed within three business days.
Reservation Windows
- July 1st – Fall semester reservations open
- November 1st – Spring semester and summer reservations open
- After the add/drop course deadline – classroom reservations open
