The Korean Ancestry Grant

At least seven new Korean Ancestry Grants, with a maximum grant of $10,000 will be available each academic year. The exact number of Korean Ancestry Grants will be decided both by the number of exceptional candidates and by the number of available Foundation funds. Applicants must be of Asian ancestry, with at least one Asian grandparent. There is a strong preference for applicants of Korean ancestry.

The Leadership Alliance Summer Research Early Identification Program (SR-EIP)

The Leadership Alliance Summer Research Early Identification Program (SR-EIP), offers undergraduates interested in pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD the opportunity to work for eight to ten weeks under the guidance of a faculty or research mentor at a participating Alliance institution. The SR-EIP is designed to encourage students from groups traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities including students who identify as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans (including Alaska Natives) and US Pacific Islander, to consider research careers in the academic, public, or private sectors.

The Library of Congress Junior Fellows Summer Intern Program

The Library of Congress Junior Fellows Summer Intern Program enables undergraduate and graduate students to experience the integrated analog and digital collections and services of the world’s largest, all-inclusive library. Working under the direction of Library curators and specialists in various divisions, fellows work to increase access to special, legal and copyright collections, and to promote awareness and appreciation of the Library’s services to researchers including Congressional members, scholars, students, teachers, and the general public. Program participants inventory, catalog, arrange, preserve, and research collections in varied formats, as well as assist in digital library initiatives. Upon completion of their assignments, fellows work closely with Library curators and specialists to plan and present a display of their most significant discoveries and accomplishments

The Lime Connect Fellowship Program For Students with Disabilities

The Lime Connect Fellowship Program For Students with Disabilities is our flagship program in the U.S. designed for highly accomplished rising juniors with disabilities. This highly selective program: guides Fellows through the summer internship recruitment process, connects them with our corporate partners for potential summer internships, deepens their leadership skills, prepares them for success in their internship, builds their confidence as a person with a disability, engages them in a Lime Connect Fellowship community, consisting of current and past Fellows provides access to prestigious scholarships.

The Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowship (IDRF)

The Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowship (IDRF) offers nine to twelve months of support to graduate students in the humanities and humanistic social sciences who are enrolled in PhD programs in the United States and conducting dissertation research. Funding is for international on-site dissertation research in combination with site-specific research in the United States.

The Melvin and Maria Cristina Alfonzo Halpern Fund Award

The Halpern Fund recognizes excellence in undergraduate work by students engaged in academic research or study in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and/or Uruguay. The award is designed to offset expenses incurred by students. Students may use the award for UNC-Chapel Hill approved study abroad or exchange programs; or an independent program of research or study supervised by a member of the faculty community.Average award $1250.Students may use the award for UNC-Chapel Hill approved study abroad or exchange programs; or an independent program of research or study supervised by a member of the faculty community. Applicant must be returning to campus as an undergraduate after completion of their program abroad for at least one semester before graduation.

The National HS-STEM Summer Internship Program

The National HS-STEM Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to work with homeland security professionals and researchers for up to ten weeks during the summer. Participants are provided a stipend and conduct research in DHS mission-relevant research areas at federal research facilities.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP)

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. The program offers scholarship support, paid research training at the NIH during the summer, and paid employment and training at the NIH after graduation

The Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP)

The Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) provides an opportunity for college students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory for ten weeks during the summer. The goals of NREIP are to encourage participating college students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN.
