The Nuclear Forensics Undergraduate Summer School (NFUSS)

The Nuclear Forensics Undergraduate Summer School (NFUSS) is a six-week course designed to provide undergraduate students with comprehensive, experimental, hands-on training in topics essential to nuclear forensics. Through laboratory experiments and complementary lectures, students are introduced to the practice and technical aspects of nuclear forensic science. Students also gain a thorough understanding of the underlying science supporting this field of work. Includes stipend and living expenses.

The Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) Internship Program

The Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) Internship Program is for current degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students looking to begin an exciting career in homeland security and intelligence. I&A offers internships in the functional areas of Intelligence Analysis, Intelligence Operations, Mission Readiness, Information Technology, and Data Science. The I&A Internship Program is designed to provide the experience and skills needed to produce capable and well-rounded Homeland Security intelligence professionals. Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

The Poise Foundation/NAACP Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship

Scholarships support student members of the NAACP pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in any field. The scholarships are for one year.

The Poise Foundation/NAACP Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students

awarded annually to a male, US citizen who attends an accredited institution in the United States and is majoring in one of the following fields: Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematical Sciences.

The Rolex Scholarship

Currently, there are three Rolex Scholarships: North America, Europe, and Australasia. Each Rolex Scholarship provides a hands-on introduction to underwater and other aquatic-related endeavors for a young person considering a career in an underwater-related discipline. One scholar is selected from each of the three regions and each scholar spends approximately one-year working side by side with current leaders in underwater fields. Each scholar travels primarily within their region but may have opportunities throughout the underwater world. The range of experiences may include active participation in field studies, underwater research, scientific expeditions, laboratory assignments, equipment testing, and design, photographic instruction, and other specialized assignments.

The Royal Academy Schools Starr Fellowship

a year long fellowship for U.S. nationals with a contemporary art practice. The Fellowship provides a stipend, a studio at the RA Schools, opportunities for the artist in residence to contribute to the RA Schools Postgraduate Programme, and access to a programme of academic lectures and talks, workshops, technical facilities and expertise. Teaching experience and an MFA or similar is desirable but not essential.

The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future

The program’s long-term goal is to accelerate gender equality in STEM by generating conditions that result in more women pursuing scientific careers through alleviating some of the barriers they encounter when enrolling in STEM disciplines. The program awards fellowships for advanced research in STEM at leading research institutes abroad. Faculty for the Future Fellows are expected to return to their home countries upon completion of their studies to contribute to the economic, social, and technological advancement of their home regions by strengthening the STEM teaching and research faculties of their home institutions as well as through their leadership in science-based entrepreneurship.

The Seaborg Institute Nuclear Science Summer Internship Program

The Seaborg Institute Nuclear Science Summer Internship Program is a specialized internship program that seeks graduate students from research universities across the nation to work in critical skills areas related to nuclear forensics. Students are given a monthly stipend to join scientists in independent research projects at a national laboratory and are teamed with mentors who can help hone their skills and guide research projects for advanced degrees.

The Secretary’s Honors Program (SHP) Cyber Student Intern Program

CSIP offers summer opportunities to current undergraduate and graduate students a chance to gain invaluable hands-on cyber experience through challenging work projects, real-life scenarios, and mentoring from DHS cybersecurity professionals. This program provides a way for the Department to expand the pipeline of future cyber talent which is needed to execute the unique cybersecurity missions at DHS.
