U.S. Department of State Fulbright National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship

Through the Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship, fellows will undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue, comparing and contrasting how that issue is experienced across borders. Utilizing a variety of digital storytelling tools, including text, photography, video, audio, graphic illustrations, and/or social media, Fellows will publish their work on a dedicated blog hosted on the National Geographic. Fellows will be paired with one or more National Geographic editors throughout their Fulbright grant period. Applicants may submit proposals for grants for up to three host countries. Applications will be accepted for Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowships in any country to which there is an active Fulbright U.S. Student Program with the exception of China. Fellowships are awarded for a nine-month academic year, beginning in the Fall and finishing in the late Spring or early Summer.

U.S. Department of Transportation Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG)

Paid summer internship to provide students with hands-on experience and on-the-job training while working on current transportation-related topics and issues. The STIPDG is open to all qualified applicants but is designed to provide qualified women, persons with disabilities, and members of diverse groups with summer opportunities in transportation where these groups have been under-represented.

UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship

UCB scholarships support students pursuing higher education who either suffer from epilepsy, are family members of those who suffer from epilepsy, or are caregivers to those who suffer from epilepsy. UCB will award thirty Family Epilepsy Scholarships to applicants who demonstrate academic and personal achievement, while two Epilepsy Leader Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding applicants who demonstrate a passion for advocacy, service to the epilepsy community, and a persevering spirit.  The scholarship is a one-time award

UNC Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

SURF recipients are expected to engage in undergraduate research, scholarship, or performance for at least 9 weeks, with a minimum of 20 hours/week during the summer, although depending on scope, some projects may require more than the minimum of 20 hours/week.

Uncommon Schools Summer Teaching Fellowship

The Summer Teaching Fellowship (STF) is a unique, highly competitive teacher recruitment and preparation program designed to introduce college juniors from underrepresented backgrounds to teaching and urban education reform. Through hands-on experience in Uncommon’s schools, mentorship, and tailored professional development, Fellows develop the skills necessary for leading high-achieving classrooms.. Fellows will work and teach in one of Uncommons schools with the support of a mentor teacher, Summer Academy Director, and STF staff. They engage in professional development sessions 2-3 times per week. To build cohort community, Fellows also take part in a range of fun social and cultural events together.
