American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) Dissertation Research Fellowships

Fellowships support students in all academic disciplines conducting or preparing to conduct research involving Bangladesh. These grants are supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. Due to ever-changing security concerns, proposed research must be conducted in a country other than the US or Bangladesh.

American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students

Fellowships support full-time minority(Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; or Native American ethnicity or Alaska Native; Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander ethnicity) accounting doctoral students who demonstrate significant potential to become accounting educators. Awards are made for a single academic year and are renewable for a total of five years, based on student’s satisfactory progress and financial need as a full-time student.

American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) John L. Carey Scholarships

support liberal arts and other non-business degree holders who are pursuing both graduate studies in accounting and the CPA licensure. These scholarships are funded by the AICPA Foundation and are intended to encourage students with little or no previous accounting education to consider professional accounting careers. Recipients must perform at least eight hours of community service per semester to advocate for the CPA profession. This scholarship is for one year and is non-renewable.

American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) Dissertation Fellowships

Fellowships support dissertation research in India conducted in pursuit of knowledge about India, its people and culture. Fellowships offer up to 11 months of support. Applications from scholars who are part of a collaborative project involving other scholars are welcome, though AIIS fellowships are granted to individuals, not to teams.

American Institute of Iranian Studies Persian Language Study Fellowship

offers fellowships for advanced language study at the Sa’di Foundation in Tehran. Applicants must be U.S. citizens traveling on a U.S. passport, who are enrolled in a Doctoral or Masters program in the humanities or social sciences, have an approved research topic that requires use of Persian, and have completed at least one full academic year of Persian language study.

American Institute of Iranian Studies Pre-doctoral Dissertation Research in Iranian Studies

fellowships for one- to two-month research travel to countries with resources essential to the dissertation. These fellowships enable students in the field of Iranian Studies to acquaint themselves with the range of academic activities and resources in relevant foreign countries. It is the responsibility of the applicant to receive permission to conduct the intended research from the pertinent authorities prior to making the application. American Institute of Physics (AIP) Congressional Fellowship Program

Fellowships are for scientists with a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field with an interest in science and technology policy.  Fellows are placed in congressional offices in order to make scientific knowledge and skills available to Members of Congress. The program enables scientists to broaden their experience through direct involvement with the legislative and political processes. Fellows participate in a two-week orientation in Washington, D.C., and then serve in congressional offices handling varied assignments, both technical and non-technical. The fellowship is for one year.

American Institute of Physics / U.S. Department of State Postdoctoral State Department Science Fellowship

Fellowships allow scientists to contribute scientific and technical expertise to the Department and raise awareness of the value of scientific input. In turn, scientists broaden their experience by interacting with policymakers in the federal government and learning about the foreign policy process. Fellows work in offices of the U.S. State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C. The American Astronomical Society provides an annual contribution to the fellowship. The fellowship is for one year.
