American Philosophical Society (APS) Phillips Fund for Research in Native American Studies

The fund supports research in Native American linguistics, ethnohistory, and the history of studies of Native Americans in the continental United States and Canada. Grants are not made for projects in archaeology, ethnography, psycholinguistics, or for the preparation of pedagogical materials. The grants are intended for such costs as travel, tapes, films, and consultants’ fees but not for the purchase of books or permanent equipment. The grant offers support for one year.

American Planning Association (APA) Judith McManus Price Scholarship for Women and Minorities

Scholarships support women and minority students (African American, Hispanic American or Native American) who are enrolled in an approved Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) program who intend to pursue careers as practicing planners in the public sector, and who can demonstrate financial need. The scholarship offer support for one year.

The Koppitz fellowship supports graduate research in child psychology including child-clinical, pediatric, school, educational, and developmental psychopathology. The fellowship provides one year of support. Applicants must have achieved doctoral candidacy. Only one application can be received from any one institution in any one year

American Psychological Association (APA) Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (MHSAS) Serving Minority Populations

Fellowships support the specialized training of postdoctoral psychologists who maintain a professional focus on behavioral health services or policy for ethnic minorities. The fellowship offers support for one year, renewable for a second year.

Applicants must: Have received a PhD, PsyD, or equivalent doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited institution in the last five years; Be engaged in specialized postdoctoral training (not a permanent employment position); Have proof of support from an established sponsor with a doctoral degree and an established professional track record who will provide direct supervision for the applicant’s training and experience; Be African American/Black; American Indian or Alaskan Native; Asian American or Pacific Islander; Latino/Hispanic; and/or committed to careers that focus primarily on racial/ethnic minority behavioral health services or policy.
