Scholarships

The David Barrett Memorial Scholarship is awarded biennially to recognize the work of an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates an interest and ability in utilizing classical design elements and traditional materials in their work.

provides financial assistance to individuals or groups developing an educational program(s) or project that is dedicated to health, safety, and welfare. This grant will be evaluated on the strength of the project proposal, budget, promotion plan, and expected outcome.The grant is open to students, educators, interior design practitioners, institutions, and an interior design related group.

recognizes an outstanding interior design research project or thesis project conducted by an undergraduate or graduate student. This project or thesis should be related to wellness and design. Research papers or theses should address topics such as educational research, behavioral science, business practice, design process, theory, or other technical subjects. Entries will be judged on quality of content, breadth of material, comprehensive coverage of topic, innovative subject matter, bibliography, and references.

Undergraduate: for students in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study enrolled in at least a three-year accredited program of interior design. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic accomplishment, creative achievement, and personal statement. The jury will evaluate entries on academic record, presentation skills, design and planning competency, and conceptual creativity.

Graduate: for students who are enrolled in, or have been accepted for, admission to a graduate-level interior design program at an accredited university. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic accomplishment, creative achievement, and personal statement.

Grants and fellowships support graduate student members of the ASM engaged in research in any area of mammalogy to assist them in the early development of their careers

The ASME Teaching Fellowship Program encourages outstanding graduate students, especially women and minorities, to pursue the doctorate in mechanical engineering and pursue engineering education as a profession. Fellowships provide up to two years of support.

Scholarships support graduate students in engineering or physical sciences who are pursuing an education and career in naval engineering. See website for eligible programs of study. The scholarship offers support for one year.

The fellowship provides travel expenses for medical students who arrange clinical tropical medicine or tropical medicine research electives in areas afflicted by tropical diseases. Recipients must spend at least one month at a site endemic for diseases or illnesses common in the tropics. Must propose an elective in tropical medicine research or training in clinical tropical medicine, including at least one month at a site endemic for tropical communicable diseases.

The Fellowship provides $25,000 in support for international training opportunities in arbovirology and emerging diseases for those with an MD, DVM, PhD or equivalent. Recipients inspired by Dr. Shope will involve themselves in studies of arbovirology and/ or emerging diseases from clinical to field to laboratory studies.This award provides support for a short-term research experience in the tropics in the area of arbovirology and/or emerging diseases.

The program offers fellowships to doctoral students of color [Blacks/African Americans, Latinos/as (e.g., Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans), American Indians or Alaskan Natives, and Asians (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Southeast Asian), or Pacific Islanders (e.g., Hawaiian, Guamanian, Samoan, Filipino)] in any sub-area or specialty in sociology, including social psychology, gender and sexuality, education, medicine and health, inequalities and stratification, race and ethnicity, and more. The fellowship offers one year of support.
