Boston Athenaeum Research Library Short-Term Research Fellowships

support for the use of Athenæum collections for research, publication, curriculum and program development, or other creative projects. The Library’s collections comprise over half a million volumes, with particular strengths in Boston history, New England state and local history, biography, English and American literature, and the fine and decorative arts. The fellowships offer support for four weeks.Scholars, graduate students, independent scholars, teaching faculty and professionals in the humanities are eligible. Boston College African & African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS) Dissertation Fellowship

residential dissertation fellowships to scholars working in any discipline in the social sciences or humanities, with projects focusing on any topic within African and/or African Diaspora Studies. The Program seeks applicants pursuing innovative, preferably interdisciplinary, projects in dialogue with critical issues and trends within the field. The fellow will have full access to BC’s seven libraries as well as several rare book and manuscript collections. Of particular interest is the Nicholas M. Williams Caribbeana Collection, consisting of materials from and about Africa, Jamaica, and the British West Indies. The fellow must remain in residence and maintain an active presence on Boston College’s campus during the term of the fellowship.  The fellowship offers support for one academic year.
