Scholarships

Brown and Caldwell offers a scholarship designed to encourage and support students who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation that have a desire to improve our world by developing their skills and knowledge in preparation for a career in the environmental profession. $1,000 for up to four (4) years of schooling (for a total of $4,000). A laptop computer or tablet (awarded the first year only).

Up to $6000 for UNC undergraduates to design an immersive project domestically or abroad in line with their interests.

The California Alliance supports postdoctoral research opportunities for underrepresented minorities at four top-tier California institutions — UC Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, and Caltech — in the fields of mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering. The program also includes faculty mentoring, professional development, and academic networking opportunities. The fellowship offers two years of support in the form of a salary, research funds, and health insurance.

The fellowships place professional scientists and engineers in the California State Legislature and enable fellows to work hands on with policy-makers to develop solutions to complex scientific and technical issues facing California. The fellowships are ideal for qualified applicants who are interested in improving the interface between science and legislative decision-making and who want to learn the public policy decision-making process. Acceptable disciplines include agricultural sciences, anthropology, biological sciences, chemistry, computational sciences, earth and ocean sciences, economics, education, environmental sciences, geography, health sciences/medicine, mathematics/statistics, political sciences, psychology, physics & physical sciences, sociology, space sciences, and systems sciences. The fellowship is for one year.

Doctoral or masters graduate students who are studying linguistics, foreign language assessment, education, psychology, psychometrics, or related fields are eligible to apply.

The Fellowship is awarded to a woman who has completed one calendar year of a doctoral program, at the time of application. The PhD thesis research/project must focus on advancing gender equality. It is not restricted to a specific field of study. The Fellowship is tenable in Canada or abroad.
