Scholarships

Honors a founding member of the Nova Scotia Home Economics Association who dedicated her professional life to home economics education. At the time of application, the applicant must be enrolled in master’s studies that focus on one or more aspect(s) of the field of Human Ecology/Home Economics/Family and Consumer Sciences*. Special consideration will be given to those pursuing a postgraduate degree in education. She may be studying abroad. The Ruth Binnie and CHEA Fellowships are awarded to candidates in any of the following areas of study: human nutrition, food science, housing/shelter and aesthetics, architecture, financial resource management, clothing and textiles, family relations, human sexuality, human development.

Fellowships support research on the development of the study of modern and contemporary Ukraine.Fellows are expected to be in residence at CIUS in Edmonton, Canada, for the duration of the fellowship term, and to assist and participate in the overall program planning and activities of CIUS. Although all applications in fields associated with the humanities and social sciences will be considered, research proposals in the areas of identities, nationalism, regions, borders, social values, historical politics and memory, change, and conflict, will be given preference. The fellowship may be renewed for a second year.

Fellowships support research in Ukrainian studies in Canada and internationally. The fellowships are for one year.

Fellowships support and train young scientists who wish to receive training in cancer immunology to carry out hypothesis driven, mechanistic studies in both immunology and tumor immunology with the potential to directly impact our understanding of the immune system’s role in cancer risk, tumor initiation, progression, metastasis, host response to tumors and/or the treatment of cancer. The fellowship is for three years.

places undergraduate and graduate students within the public sector in the Washington, DC area for internships in policy or scientific research, project coordination and management, business, law, communications, and more. CAPAL’s Public Service Field Internship Program places undergraduate and graduate students within public sector positions throughout the US to conduct field research, perform site visits to local communities, and present their findings to various partners.

Up to $5000 for UNC undergraduates to intern in a small, for-profit sports business abroad.

The 2021 CFK Peacock Fellow will join the organization during a critical moment in the organization’s growth and produce a range of multimedia deliverables to promote CFK’s 20th Anniversary in 2021. The fellow may support additional CFK communications including website updates, social media, and blog posts. The fellow will have the option to work remotely and/or in CFK’s office in the FedEx Global Education Center depending on coronavirus-related restrictions.  This is a paid position with the option for domestic and international travel dependent on COVID restrictions. 

Funding for students to complete a non-credit-bearing global experience in the U.S. or abroad.

Graduate and postgraduate fellowship for support of ongoing scholarly research and writing projects in the field of caricature and cartoon. Fellows are required to make use of the Library’s extensive collections, be in residence for at least two weeks during the award period, and deliver a public lecture on his/her work-in-progress at that time. Each recipient must also provide a copy of their dissertation, thesis, or postgraduate publication, upon its completion, for the Swann Foundation Fund files.

CaGIS scholarships support research in cartography and geographic information science.The winner will have demonstrated excellence in cartography or GIScience coursework and the potential to contribute to cartography or GIScience research.
