Center for Disease Control (CDC) – National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) Postdoctoral Research Program

Fellowships support research related to developing programs and policies that will improve the health of the American people. General areas of interest for research at NCHS include statistical theory, survey methodology, statistical computing, economics, demography, and social and behavioral science. Fellows must be in residence at NCHS in Hyattsville, MD, during the fellowship period. The fellowship is for two years.

Fellowships are for doctoral students in the social sciences whose work will contribute to making U.S. society less unequal, more democratic, and more environmentally sustainable. The fellowship is for one year. May be in the fields of anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, social psychology, sociology. Work inspired by these disciplines carried out in interdisciplinary programs such as ethnic studies, women’s studies, or American studies is also accepted.

Preference is given to those candidates who draw on the library and archival resources of more than one partner institution
