Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists / Centers for Disease Control and Prevention / Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (CSTE/CDC/ASPPH) Applied Epidemiology Post-Master’s and Postdoctoral Fellowship The fellowship provides training for recent or impending master’s or doctoral-level graduates in epidemiology or a related field who are interested in the practice of public health at the state or local level. Fellows work closely with highly trained and experienced epidemiologists at the state and local level as well as those working at the federal level with the CDC. Each applied epidemiology fellow is assigned to a designated host health agency and two, highly-trained and experienced mentors (primary and secondary). Host health agencies are CDC and CSTE-approved, with demonstrated capacity to provide a fellow with technical training, research opportunities, and practical experience in the application of epidemiologic methods. Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Minority Fellowship Program for Master’s Students in Mental Health Services for Youth Fellowships support master’s students who are committed to providing mental health services to at-risk children, adolescents, and transition-age youths (aged 16–25) in underserved minority communities. The program seeks to reduce health disparities and improve behavioral health-care outcomes for racial and ethnically diverse children, adolescents, and/or transition- age youths by increasing the number of culturally competent master’s-level social work professionals serving this population. Crane Award The Julia Crane Award, named in honor of the late Julia Crane, Professor of Anthropology, recognizes excellence in undergraduate work by a rising senior conducting research leading to an undergraduate honors thesis on a Latin American or Caribbean topic. The award defrays the cost of summer travel to Latin America or the Caribbean. The competition is not restricted by discipline or department. Awardees are expected to complete their honors thesis during the academic year following the award.
