Dartmouth College Thurgood Marshall Dissertation Fellowship

The goal of the Thurgood Marshall Dissertation Fellowship is to promote student and faculty diversity at Dartmouth, and throughout higher education, by supporting completion of the doctorate by underrepresented minority scholars and other graduate scholars with a demonstrated commitment and ability to advance educational diversity. Fellows participate together in mentoring and professional development programming, including guidance in preparing for faculty careers.

Dartmouth College Tribal Scholar Fellowship Program

The Native American Studies Program offers short-term fellowships to allow Tribal Scholars to conduct research at Dartmouth College, to make use of the institution’s resources, and to interact with faculty and students. The fellowships are designed to give members of tribal communities, who would not otherwise have the opportunity, time to pursue individual or community research projects at an Ivy League institution.

Davis Fellows for Peace

Davis Fellows for Peace awards cover tuition, room, and board for one summer in any of the 11 Language Schools (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian) at any level of study.

The 100 annual fellowships are intended for exceptionally qualified individuals with demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: international, global, or area studies; international politics and economics; peace and security studies; and/or conflict resolution. Those in other fields, including working professionals, are encouraged to apply if their field of expertise requires them to study one of the languages offered.

The fellowship supports dissertation research related to painting, sculpture and allied arts from 1940-1991, with a preference shown to Abstract Expressionism. The fellowship is for one year. Must be nominated through a doctoral art history program.

Dedalus Foundation Post-MFA Fellowships in Painting and Sculpture

Fellowships support graduates of MFA degree programs in painting or sculpture to work in residence at the Dedalus Foundation in New York City. The fellowship is for one year.

NOTE: Candidates must be nominated prior to application by department chairs of MFA programs in painting and sculpture. Each institution may nominate up to two candidates. Qualified MFA students should contact their department chairs.
