Designed to expand the intersection between furniture making and other craft media(i.e.fiber/upholstery,metals,etc.).Goal is to provide the ability to explore new materials and modes of making to incorporate into applicant’s furniture practice and to create new connections with makers from other craft mediums. Includes workshop tuition, room and board, and travel expenses.

Gamma Mu Scholarships

The Gamma Mu Scholarships Program provides support to gay men who want to further their education at a college, university, or vocational or professional training program. In addition, effective 2016, the Gamma Mu Scholarship Program will award one scholarship annually (“The Folisi & Goodwin Scholarship in Memory of Ray Williams”) to a student from the broader LGBT community.

Garden Club of America (GCA) University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum Fellowship in Ecological Restoration

Fellowships support study in ecological restoration, defined as the process of assisting the recovery and management of ecological integrity. Ecological integrity includes a critical range of variability in biodiversity, ecological processes and structures, regional and historical context, and sustainable cultural practices. The fellowship offers support for one year.

Garden Club of America / Center for Plant Conservation Beattie Fellowship for Conservation Horticulture

Fellowships support graduate research that will promote conservation of rare and endangered flora in the United States for work at a botanical garden by the student, who jointly serves the program of the Center for Plant Conservation (CPC) and his/her curricular studies. The CPC is a network of more than 40 Participating Institutions consisting of botanical gardens and arboreta around the country. The fellowship offers support for one year.

Gates Millenium Scholarship

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian Pacific Islander American**, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest. Continuing Gates Millennium Scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.
