German Historical Institute (GHI) Doctoral Fellowships

Fellowships support European and North American doctoral students pursuing research projects that draw upon primary sources located in the United States. The Institute is particularly interested in research projects that fit into the following fields: German and European history, the history of German-American relations, and the role of Germany and the USA in international relations. These fellowships are also available to European doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars in the field of American history. The proposed research projects should make use of historical methods and engage with the relevant historiography. The fellowships offer support for 1-5 months.

Getty Research Institute Dissertation & Postdoctoral Fellowships

Getty Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended for emerging scholars to complete work on projects related to the Getty Research Institute’s annual research theme. Recipients are in residence at the Getty Research Institute or Getty Villa, where they pursue research projects, complete their dissertations, or expand dissertation for publication. Fellows make use of the Getty collections, join in a weekly meeting devoted to the annual theme, and participate in the intellectual life of the Getty.

Getty Research Institute Library Research Grant

Grants provide partial, short-term support travel required to useĀ specific collections housed in the Getty Research Institute. The Research Library focuses on the history of art, architecture, and archaeology with relevant materials in the humanities and social sciences. The Photo Archive’s two million photographs of works of art and architecture provide opportunities for original pictorial research in the fine arts, including the history of photography. The research period may range from several days to a maximum of three months.

The ESED scholarship supports outstanding students pursuing advanced studies in sustainable energy development in order to encourage meaningful contributions to the collective body of knowledge about this subject. The scholarship is granted for up to two years.

Golden Door Scholars

Golden Door Scholars promotes economic mobility for undocumented students. As a Golden Door Scholar, each student receives a scholarship empowering her or him to earn a bachelor’s degree. The program partners with schools to cover tuition, room and board. Scholars also have access to mentors, internship and job search support, along with other professional growth opportunities.

Eligible students may be high school seniors, recent high school graduates, or currently enrolled in college pursuing an undergraduate degree. Applicants must have DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), TPS (Temporary Protected Status), or certify that they came to the United States before the age of 16 and have continuously resided in the United States since November 1, 2014 up to the present time and have had no lawful status.

Golden Key Graduate Scholar Award

Provides a substantial scholarship for Golden Key membersā€™ post-baccalaureate study at accredited universities anywhere in the world. Emphasis will be placed on why the student is continuing their education, future academic goals and career goals, as well as how the student feels that can truly create change in the future.
