Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation Dissertation Writing Fellowship

The Guggenheim Foundation sponsors scholarly research on problems of violence and aggression in relation to social change, intergroup conflict, war, terrorism, crime, and family relationships, among other subjects. Fellowships are designed to contribute to the support of the doctoral candidate to enable him or her to complete dissertation writing in a timely manner.

Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies Academy Scholars Program Dissertation & Postdoctoral Fellowships

Fellowships support doctoral and postdoctoral scholars work combines research in the social sciences (including history and law) with a command of the language, history, or culture of non-Western countries or regions (see website for eligible fields). Their scholarship may elucidate domestic, comparative, or transnational issues, past or present. The fellowship offers support for two years.

Harvard College Houghton Library Katherine F. Pantzer Jr. Fellowship in Descriptive Bibliography

Fellowships support research in descriptive bibliography using the resources of Houghton Library, the principal rare book and manuscript library of Harvard College. The Library’s holdings are particularly strong in the following areas: European, English, American, and South American literature, including the country’s preeminent collection of American literary manuscripts; philosophy; religion; history of science; music; printing and graphic arts; dance; and theater. Fellows will also have access to collections in Widener Library as well as to other libraries at the University. Fellows are expected to be in residence at Houghton Library for the duration of the fellowship. The fellowship offers support for up to 12 months.

The Library’s holdings are particularly strong in the following areas: European, English, American, and South American literature, including the country’s preeminent collection of American literary manuscripts; philosophy; religion; history of science; music; printing and graphic arts; dance; and theater. Fellows will also have access to collections in Widener Library as well as to other libraries at the University. Fellows are expected to be in residence at Houghton for at least four weeks during the fellowship period (these do not have to be consecutive weeks).
