he Deland Award for Student Research supports investigations by graduate and advanced undergraduate students working on the comparative biology of woody plants, including developmental biology, physiology, genetics, reproductive biology, or ecology. Preference is given to students whose research utilizes the living collections of the Arnold Arboretum.

supports de novo sequencing, analysis, and data sharing of key members (i.e., accessioned plants) of the living collections. Priority will be given to proposals that utilize the following Core Genera and preferred species, however requests to sequence other accessioned taxa or pairs representing biogeographic disjuncts are encouraged

Harvard University – Arnold Arboretum Katharine H. Putnam Postdoctoral Fellowship in Plant Science

Fellowships support independent postdoctoral research in plant science that would utilize the Arboretum’s living collections. Fellows conduct basic and applied research in the plant sciences including, but not limited to, projects in taxonomy and systematics, molecular and developmental biology, physiological ecology, propagation, plant-insect and/or -pathogen interactions, and collections management. Fellows are also expected to work collaboratively with the staff of the Arboretum on other institutional efforts. Participation as an instructor for Arnold Arboretum education programs is encouraged, as is writing for Arnoldia, the Arboretum’s quarterly magazine.The fellowship offers support for two years.

Harvard University – John F. Kennedy School of Government Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation China Public Policy Postdoctoral Fellowship

Fellowships support postdoctoral research in the social sciences and history in the field of contemporary Chinese public policy. Preference will be given to those working in the areas of domestic politics, political economy, business-government relations, state-society relations, and social development of China, with a focus on public policy challenges. Residence in the Cambridge, Massachusetts, area and participation in the activities of the Center are required. The fellowship offers support for up to two years.

Fellowships support postdoctoral scholars whose research illuminates aspects of democratic governance and provides normative or practical guidance regarding an urgent substantive policy or social problem related to democratic governance. Preference will be given to postdoctoral scholars whose research interests coincide with the Ash Center’s current focus on innovations in public participation and political participation in non-democracies. The fellowship offers support for two years.

Predoctoral and postdoctoral residential fellowships are for research and writing in the fields of science and international affairs on topics within the scope of the Center’s major research programs. Predoctoral research fellows are expected to contribute to the Center’s research activities, as well as work on their doctoral dissertations. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to complete a book, monograph, or other significant publication during their period of residence. Fellows are expected to be in residence for the duration of the fellowship. The fellowships offer support for 10 months with the possibility for renewal.

Harvard University Center for the Environment Environmental Fellows Postdoctoral Program

Fellowships support recent doctorate recipients whose research tackles complex environmental problems. The Fellows work with Harvard faculty members in any school or department to create new knowledge while also strengthening connections across the University’s academic disciplines. Recipients—and hosts—may include people with degrees in the sciences, economics, law, government, public policy, public health, medicine, design, and the full array of humanities. This fellowship is for two years.
