Hebrew Union College Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives Dissertation Fellowships

Fellowships support dissertation research in some area relating to the history of North American Jewry, to support research and writing at The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives, located on the Cincinnati campus of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Fellowships are for one month.

Hebrew University Lady Davis Fellowship Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship

Fellowships support research in the humanities, social sciences, social work, business administration, law, STEM fields, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, agriculture, and veterinary science. Fellows carry out their research under the guidance of a faculty sponsor. The fellowship offer support for 9-12 months with the possibility of extension.

Helen Hay Whitney Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biomedical Sciences

Helen Tartar First Book Subvention

This program is designed for ACLA-member authors who require subventions to ensure publication of their first books. The ACLA will award up to $10,500 in subventions each year with up to three awards of $3,500 each. These subventions will be awarded on a competitive basis to first-time book authors.

Helmut Schmidt Fellowship

The American fellow will be based at GMF (German Marshall Fund) in Berlin. S/he will be fully integrated into GMF’s policy work, conducting and publishing research and analysis, participating in meetings and events, and contributing to discussions on programmatic strategy. The fellow will have access to GMF’s network and resources, as well as to contacts in the academic, think tank, and policy communities. S/he will also have opportunities to participate in Berlin-based programming, including meeting with officials and policymakers, as well as representatives of the diplomatic and nonprofit sectors. Interested candidates should have graduated with a master’s degree or a PhD and have a minimum of five years of work experience.

Hench Post-Dissertation Fellowship

Provides 12-month stipend for scholars who are no more than three years beyond receipt of the doctorate, at the American Antiquarian Society. The purpose is to provide the recipient with time and resources to extend research and/or to revise the dissertation for publication. Any topic relevant to the Society’s library collections and programmatic scope–that is, American history and culture through 1876–is eligible. Applicants may come from such fields as history, literature, American studies, political science, art history, music history, and others relating to America in the period of the Society’s coverage. Grants support travel to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch, Iowa. The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association is a nonprofit support group for the Hoover Presidential Library-Museum and Hoover National Historic Site in West Branch.
