Fellowships support graduate students in intensive Urdu study through a language immersion program based at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan. ellowships support PhD level study and research in all areas of interest to the EDS, including of engineering, physics, theory, experiment and simulation of electron and ion devices involving insulators, metals, organic materials, plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect materials, vacuum, and emerging materials. Specific applications of these devices include bioelectronics, biomedical, computation, communications, displays, electro and micro mechanics, imaging, micro actuators, optical, photovoltaics, power, sensors and signal processing. Grants support research connected with identifiable component of the CIS (neural networks, fuzzy systems, or evolutionary computation). They intended to cover the expenses related to a visit to another university, institute or research agency for collaboration with an identified researcher in the field of interest of the applicant. In certain cases, the scholarship may also be used to cover expenses related to support the student at their home institution for intensive work on a particular project, if – due to extenuating circumstances – such work cannot be continued as scheduled during the regular academic semester. Scholarships are for master’s and doctoral students pursuing a graduate degree in food science.

IFT Food Laws and Regulations Division Scholarship for MS or PhD candidates studying food science with an interest in food laws, regulation, food policy, agriculture policy, or nutrition policy. Award amount: $1,500.

IFT Nutraceutical and Functional Foods Division Scholarship for MS or PhD students in the field of nutraceuticals and functional foods and the contributions to these disciplines. Award amount: $1,000.

Mike Jimenez Scholarship Sponsored by the IFT International Division for an MS or PhD student studying food science, with a focus in food security, global development or nutrition in the developing world. Award amount: $1,000.

Dr. Richard L. Hall Scholarship in Flavor Science for an MS or PhD student whose research is in the area of the safety assessment of flavors. Award amount: $2,000.

Scholarships are for master’s and doctoral students pursuing a graduate degree in food science. The scholarships offer support for one year.
