Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research (SIP)

Summer programs at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provide an opportunity to spend a summer conducting research at the NIH side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world, in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research on the main campus in Bethesda, MD, and the surrounding area as well as in Baltimore and Frederick, MD; Research Triangle Park, NC; Hamilton, MT; Framingham, MA; Phoenix, AZ; and Detroit, MI. Internships cover a minimum of eight weeks.

Summer Undergraduate Minority Research Program (SUMR)

Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics and the Health Care Management Department at the Wharton School provide underrepresented minority undergraduate students, or interested others, an opportunity to explore the exciting field of health services research. Participants work with Penn faculty mentor(s) full time on health services research project(s) of the student’s choice, gain  assistance with the graduate school application process, including a GRE prep program, meet weekly with program staff and Penn faculty to discuss their projects, present a final presentation at the End of SUMR Research Symposium, and attend the health services research conference in Seattle.

Taiwan Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarship for Language Studies

Scholarships support non-Taiwanese students who wish to pursue Huayu (Mandarin proficiency) courses at approved language centers in Taiwan, and to increase their understanding of Taiwanese culture and society. Scholarships offer support for two, three, six, nine, or twelve months.
