Herzog August Bibliothek (HAB) PhD Fellowships

The fellowship supports doctoral research in the areas of medieval and early modern cultural history centered on the historic book and manuscript holdings of the HAB in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. The fellowship is open to researchers from all historically oriented disciplines. Fellows are required to be in residence in Wolfenbüttel for the duration of their fellowship. The fellowship period is 2-10 months.

HHMI Gilliam Fellowships for Advanced Study

ffered by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), Gilliam Fellowships for Advanced Study promote excellence in the life sciences and related fields by supporting 1) PhD students committed to a career in academic research and 2) faculty and training programs dedicated to developing the talents of promising graduate students from underrepresented groups.  The goal of the program is to ensure that a diverse and highly trained workforce is prepared to assume leadership roles in science.  Fellowships offer up to three years of support, typically years 3-5 of a doctoral program.

History of Science Society (HSS) Fellowship in the History of Space Science

The Fellowships funds research in all aspects of the history of aerospace from the earliest human interest in flight to the present, including cultural and intellectual history, economic history, history of law and public policy, and the history of science, engineering, and management. The fellowship is for 6-9 months.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges Fisher Center for the Study of Women and Men MFA and Predoctoral Fellowship

The Fisher Center Pre-doctoral Fellowship offers an opportunity to gain experience teaching in a private liberal arts college while completing thesis work. It carries a stipend. Fellows teach one course per semester related to their research and the theme, attend Fisher Center lectures and meetings, make a public presentation, and assist with administration of Fisher Center programming. The pre-doctoral fellow participates in the Faculty Fellows Research Group. This group of interdisciplinary scholars meet twice a month to discuss their research as related to the year’s theme
