Program Highlights
There are many parallels between environmental health issues affecting rural communities of color in the US and rural/traditional communities of color in Brazil. It is important for the next generation of public health leaders to better understand how social, economic and environmental impacts, along with globalization influence environmental health in the US and abroad and how collaborating on community-driven approaches to address environmental health inequities can create innovated and sustained solutions. Furthermore, applying specific concepts and practices from leadership can support students in applying what they learn from this program. Integrating coursework with meaningful excursions, site visits, and guest lectures will allow students on the program to gain a deeper understanding of global environmental health.
