Program Highlights
This program will immerse students in the institutions, relationships, and policy debates that shape Europe’s role in global affairs. Students will examine how the EU has developed over time, how its institutions function, and how authority is shared between the EU and its member states. The program will also explore the evolving relationship between Europe and the United States, with attention to contemporary challenges involving democracy, climate, trade, foreign affairs, and collective security. Through visits to organizations and conversations with policymakers and subject-matter experts in Brussels, students will gain firsthand insight into how international priorities are negotiated and translated into policy. A Model European Union simulation will further challenge students to consider competing national interests, shared European values, and emerging issues influencing the EU’s agenda.
